The Square in Shrewsbury is at the heart of this historic town and is the principal open public area for major civic, cultural and festival activities throughout the year. It has always remained a popular meeting point for the town, being a beautiful place to sit and relax.

Today the Square is host to a wide variety of events including specialist European handicraft and food markets, open air music events and Christmas carol celebrations. It is also the gathering place for residents to welcome in the New Year as the clock strikes midnight.
