American college students David and Jack are attacked by a large wolf while backpacking through Britain. David survives with a bite, but Jack is brutally killed. Plagued by violent nightmares in hospital, David discovers that he is becoming a werewolf. He contemplates suicide before the next full moon turns him from man to murderous beast.
